Christeyns – Modular Changing Room Installation
Christeyns, a leading name in the hygiene and cleaning product industry, approached us with a unique challenge: they needed a fully functional 40-foot staff changing facility – but it had to be installed inside an existing warehouse.
Headquartered in Bradford, Christeyns supplies specialist hygiene solutions across sectors including food processing, healthcare, commercial laundry, and facilities management. With a strong focus on operational efficiency and workplace standards, the company required a high-quality facility that would support its growing workforce.
With no external space available and a desire to avoid disruptive internal building works, the client was looking for a self-contained solution that would make the most of the footprint they had. Adding to the complexity, the only access to the final location was a standard 4ft 9in warehouse roller shutter door, and the internal space was limited in height and manoeuvrability.
What We Did
Rather than seeing the restricted access and indoor location as barriers, we saw it as an opportunity to showcase our flexibility and capability. After a detailed site survey and planning session, our team developed a strategy to design, deliver, and position a 40-foot modular building within the warehouse.
The unit itself was relatively standard, a staff welfare module with changing room and lockers but the installation was anything but. As Martin Balshaw, TF Jackson Managing Director and project lead, explained:
The client had spoken to a few other providers who just said no, it was too awkward. But we worked with them to make it happen.
The modular building was pre-assembled offsite to minimise on-location work and then transported to site. Due to the constraints of the roller shutter door and interior layout, the two adjoining modules were positioned in place using a combination of HIAB trucks, jack lifts and rollers with careful precision. To protect operations, installation was carried out on a Saturday, outside of normal working hours. This allowed us to complete the job with zero downtime to the client’s production.
Crucially, the unit was positioned to comply with fire regulations, including proximity to fire exits, and the building’s own 60-minute fire rating provided additional peace of mind.

The Results
Within just four weeks from project initiation to handover, Christeyns had a brand-new staff changing facility, delivered, installed, and operational, all without needing to extend their building or disrupt their operations. The solution turned a previously unused corner of their warehouse into a functional, comfortable space for their team.
By choosing a modular approach, the client avoided the cost and complexity of permanent internal works or a costly extension. Instead, they now have a self-contained, compliant, and durable building that meets all their requirements, installed without a hitch, where others saw only problems.
The project highlights our ability to take on the “hard to do” jobs, those that other suppliers walk away from. As Martin put it:
It’s easy to say no to this kind of project. But we knew we could make it work, and that’s what sets us apart.
This case study is a perfect example of how relocatable modular buildings can unlock value in existing spaces, reduce operational disruption, and provide rapid, effective solutions—no matter how tricky the install.
