What We Did
Rather than seeing the restricted access and indoor location as barriers, we saw it as an opportunity to showcase our flexibility and capability. After a detailed site survey and planning session, our team developed a strategy to design, deliver, and position a 40-foot modular building within the warehouse.
The unit itself was relatively standard, a staff welfare module with changing room and lockers but the installation was anything but.
As Martin Balshaw, TF Jackson Managing Director and project lead, explained:
"The client had spoken to a few other providers who just said no, it was too awkward. But we worked with them to make it happen."
The modular building was pre-assembled offsite to minimise on-location work and then transported to site. Due to the constraints of the roller shutter door and interior layout, the two adjoining modules were positioned in place using a combination of HIAB trucks, jack lifts and rollers with careful precision.
To protect operations, installation was carried out on a Saturday, outside of normal working hours. This allowed us to complete the job with zero downtime to the client’s production.
Crucially, the unit was positioned to comply with fire regulations, including proximity to fire exits, and the building’s own 60-minute fire rating provided additional peace of mind.
